The November Featured Auction on ComicLink has closed with numerous record results for premium Golden Age, Silver Age and Bronze Age comic books and original artwork, the company has reported.

“This was an exceptional offering of material,” says ComicLink Consignment Director Douglas Gillock. “Ranging from sought-after key issues and high grade rarities to artworks by some of the most important creators in the industry, this auction had a lot to offer and buyers responded with very aggressive bidding.”

Standouts noted by ComicLink include Iron Man #1 CGC 9.9 for ($69,600), Detective Comics #27 CGC 4.0 MA ($67,077), and a Jack Kirby Thor vs. Hulk battle page from Journey Into Mystery #112 ($25,250).

The company said other record comic book sales included Detective Comics #31 CGC 3.0 at ($20,250), Detective Comics #33 CGC 5.5 ($24,250), Detective Comics #142 CGC 9.4 ($21,250), Amazing Spider-Man #12 CGC 9.6 ($13,750), Captain America Comics #32 CGC 9.4 ($11,750), Batman #47 CGC 8.0 ($10,999), Showcase #22 CGC 7.0 ($10,259), Atom #1 CGC 9.4 ($8,400), Weird Science-Fantasy #29 CGC 9.4 ($8,315), and Strange Tales #104 CGC 9.6 ($6,889).

Also among the record-setters, they noted Wonder Woman #21 CGC 9.6 double cover ($5,778), Terrific Comics #5 CGC 1.8 ($5,033), Weird Science #1(#12) CGC 9.2 Gaines File copy ($4,988), Star Trek #1 CGC 9.4 ($4,800), Action Comics #54 CGC 8.5 at $4,459), Pep Comics #28 CGC 9.0 ($4,378), Amazing Adventures #6 (1961) CGC 9.4 ($3,485), Superman #34 CGC 9.2 ($3,130), X-Men #81 CGC 9.8 double cover ($3,333), Amazing Adult Fantasy #7 CGC 9.4 ($2,867), All Winners Comics #6 CGC 6.0 ($2,277), and Archie Comics #50 CGC 6.0 ($1,100).

In the arena of original comic art, they pointed to record prices for Ernie Chan’s Justice League of America #124 cover ($7,600), seven pages by John Byrne retelling Captain America’s origin from Captain America #255 ($10,000), a Barry Windsor-Smith Conan #13 interior page ($8,101), a Richard Corben fanzine cover ($4,400), Joe Kubert’s Our Army at War #132 title splash ($3,650), Bob Layton’s Iron Man #139 cover ($8,000), a 1955 Rip Kirby daily by Alex Raymond ($1,405), and a Dan DeCarlo men’s humor magazine page ($1,300).

Two notable after-auction original art sales included Gil Kane’s historic Amazing Spider-Man #96 cover art for $45,000 as well as Frank Miller’s Daredevil #190 cover art ,also for $45,000.
