The Sunday, August 18, 2013 incarnation of The Los Angeles Comic Book And Science Fiction Convention celebrates the 50th anniversary of the original Star Trek and Outer Limits with a diverse line-up of stars and guest stars from those highly influential and ground-breaking series.
From the original series Star Trek, the convention welcomes Gary Lockwood (Lieutenant Commander Gary Mitchell) and Sally Kellerman (Dr. Eizabeth Dehner) from the episode “Where No Man Has Gone Before” (the second pilot), Joanne Linville (the first female Romulan Commander) and Jack Donner (Sub-Commander Tal) from the episode “The Enterprise Incident,” Yvonne Craig (Marta, Orion girl) “Whom Gods Destroy” (better known, of course, as Batgirl), Michael Forest (Apollo) from “Who Mourns for Adonais,” Barbara Luna (Lt. Marlena Moreau) from “Mirror, Mirror,” and Antoinette Bower (Sylvia), from the episode “Catspaw.”
Guests from The Outer Limits include Joanna Frank (Regina, the mutant Queen Bee in human form in the episode “Zzzzz, along with her husband, L.A. Law’s Alan Rachins (who also appeared in the 1995 incarnation of Outer Limits, as well as Stargate SG-1), Jacqueline Scott, (the very first episode, “The Galaxy Being ,” and “Counterweight”), Peter Mark Richman (two episodes, “The Borderland” and “The Probe”), and Joey E. Tata (two episodes, “The Zanti Misfits” and “The Children Of Spider County”). Star Trek vets Michael Forest and Barbara Luna, like many cast and crew from Star Trek, also first appeared on The Outer Limits.
The show runs from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Shrine Auditorium Expo Center, 700 West 32nd Street, in Los Angeles, across the street from the University of Southern California. Regular admission is only $10.00 (children five years old and under are free), and early admission is $12.00.
