Actor Robert Walker Jr., known best for his role in the memorable Star Trek episode “Charlie X,” passed away on December 5, 2019 at the age of 79.

Walker was born into an acting family in Queens, New York; he was the son of actors Robert Walker and Jennifer Jones. By the 1960s, he began acting on television and in films, appearing in Ensign Pulver, The War Wagon, Route 66, Naked City, The Big Valley and various others.

In Star Trek he appeared as Charlie Evans in the episode “Charlie X,” the sole survivor of a transport ship that had crashed on the planet Thasus. Charlie begins showing signs that he possesses strange powers, and the crew of the Enterprise discover that these powers make Charlie far too dangerous to be around humans. Eventually, Charlie is sent away to live with the Thasian race instead.

Walker’s later appearances throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s included spots in The Six Million Dollar Man, CHiPs, Gone With The West, The Devonsville Terror, and others.
