Italian actress and writer Daria Nicolodi died on November 26, 2020. She was 70 years old.

Nicolodi co-wrote the horror masterpiece Suspiria and starred in the visceral Deep Red. She was once married to director Dario Argento and is the mother of actress-singer-director Asia Argento.

Born on June 19, 1950 in Florence, Italy, Nicolodi participated in a variety show in 1970, beginning her life in entertainment. Some of her work in the ‘70s included TV programs like Nicotera, Without a Trace, Portrait of a Veiled Woman, Saturnino Farandola, and Rosaura at 10.

In addition to Deep Red, she starred in some of Argento’s best films, including Inferno, Tenebrae, Phenomena, and Opera. She starred in the miniseries Verdi, the TV series Saban’s Adventures of the Little Mermaid, and her final onscreen role was in Il mostro di Firenze.

Her screenwriting work after Suspiria, included Inferno, Paganini Horror, and The Black Cat.
