Sony has moved the release date of Morbius to October 8, 2021, seven months after its previously scheduled release date of March 19. It was originally set for release in July 2020, but was delayed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

As one of their big Marvel movies, Sony is keeping it on the theatrical release schedule rather than switching to a streaming option.

Morbius stars Jared Leto as biochemist Michael Morbius who tries to cure his rare blood disease but accidentally turns himself into a living vampire.

The movie is directed by Daniel Espinosa and the screenplay was written by Matt Sazama and Buck Sharpless. It also stars Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Tyrese Gibson, and Jared Harris. Michael Keaton has a currently undisclosed role, though he is rumored to be reprising the Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming.
