Actor Peter Mark Richman, known for Defenders of the Earth and many other TV shows, died of natural causes on Thursday, January 14, 2021. He was 93 years old.
According to IMDb, Richman had 159 credits to his name, with appearances in a multitude of popular shows. This included voicing the Phantom/Kit Walker on Defenders of the Earth and playing Andrew Laird on Dynasty.
Richman was born on April 16, 1927 in Philadelphia and started his career as a pharmacist. His onscreen debut came in an episode of Suspense in 1953 and kicked off a very busy career. Some of his early work included appearances on Rawhide and Alfred Hitchcock Presents, starring in Cain’s Hundred, and spots on The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits. Some of his work in the ‘60s included appearances in The Fugitive, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Bonanza, and The Virginian.
Throughout the ‘70s, Richman was in a slew of popular shows like Longstreet, Mission: Impossible, The F.B.I., The Bionic Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man, Dallas, Wonder Woman, Starsky and Hutch, and Three’s Company.
He played Colonel Briggs on Galactica 1980, was in The Incredible Hulk, Fantasy Island, Santa Barbara, Knight Rider, T.J. Hooker, Murder, She Wrote, Star Trek: The Next Generation, and Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.
In the ‘90s, Richman was in Swamp Thing, The Naked Gun 2-1/2, Beverly Hills, 90210, voiced old Peter Parker in Spider-Man: The Animated Series, and voiced for Superman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond.
His most recent work was in Poolhall Junkies, After the Wizard, and his last role was the short film The Final Show in 2016.
