The Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai is hosting an exhibit of comics from the Arab world as a part of their Library Circles program. The display features the collection of librarian David Hirsch that he has compiled over the past 34 years.

It features comics, graphic novels, and manga from the Arab world, covering 1956 to now. Cultural and sociopolitical topics are covered in the display, along with depicting how publishing has expanded in the region.

A total of 38 titles will be displayed from the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon Egypt, Sudan, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, France, and the US. The exhibit includes superhero titles like Hijab Girl, Ajaaj, and The 99, the slice of life book Shamma, and the all-ages Majid, among others.
