Netflix has released a first look at Jupiter’s Legacy, the live-action adaptation of the comic by co-creators Mark Millar and Frank Quitely (who also serve as executive producers). Titled “From Comic to Screen,” the teaser shows Quitely’s art realized on the live-action show.

The video follows Quitely as he sketches the comic before those images transition to photos of the characters. The artwork and photos introduce the villain Blackstar (Tyler Mane), then Hutch (Ian Quinlan), and Chloe Sampson (Elena Kampouris). Then we see Sheldon Sampson (Josh Duhamel) in 1929 before moving back to the present with Brandon Sampson (Andrew Horton). It ends with a modern photo of Sheldon/Utopian with Grace Sampson/Lady Liberty (Leslie Bibb) and Walter Sampson/Brainwave (Ben Daniels).

Jupiter’s Legacy tells the story of the Union, the first generation of superheroes from the 1930s led by Utopian. As they get older, their children become the next age of heroes but living up to their parents’ legacy proves a difficult task.

The teaser arrived about a week after it was announced that the show will join the streaming platform on May 7, 2021. This could mean that a full trailer isn’t far behind.

The cast also includes Mike Wade as Fitz Small/the Flare, Anna Akana as Raikou, and Matt Lanter as George Hutchence/Skyfox.
