Otakorp has provided an important update for attendees, confirming that the live Otakon will be held on August 6-8, 2021, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Otakon will be the first major convention returning to the DC area, held a few weeks ahead of Awesome Con.

There will be some changes and limitations due to continued COVID-19 safety protocols. Due to travel restrictions and mandatory quarantining, the event may not include international guests. Otakon will confirm guests in the coming weeks.

The convention may run for shorter hours to provide adequate time to clean the venue. Also, some events, including the Otakon Dance, may not be held to limit higher traffic areas.

“We have been so eager to be able to put on an event, and we can’t wait to see our Otakon friends and family again,” Otakorp President Brooke Zerrlaut said. “2021 will be a year and an Otakon to remember.”
