You can’t keep a Good Guy down. USA Network and Syfy have renewed Chucky for a second season.

The horror/drama series is based on the Child’s Play horror movie franchise that writer-director Don Mancini introduced in 1988. The TV show picked up after Cult of Chucky when the doll possessed by infamous serial killer Charles Lee Ray started splitting his soul into multiple dolls. Jake (Zackary Arthur), a misunderstood 14-year-old boy, buys Chucky (voiced by Brad Dourif) at a yard sale and soon the killer doll commits several murders while also trying to convince Jake and other teens to become his protégés.

The series also dives into Chucky’s past, showing his shocking first murder, how he met Tiffany, and the homicidal relationship they shared in the 1980s. Chucky also brought back film series stars Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, Fiona Dourif as Nica/Chucky, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay, and Christine Elise as Kyle.

The show was renewed before the first season finale on November 30, 2021. According to NBCUniversal, the first season achieved 9.5 million viewers. Additionally, it will be USA Network’s only scripted show after The Sinner ends and is one of Syfy’s top two shows (Resident Alien is the other). Chucky started streaming on Peacock on December 1.
