Sony released the first footage for the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel, which reveals that Miles Morales is swinging through New York for two more rounds in the Spider-Verse.

Following the first animated film’s style, the trailer shows the charming humor, beautiful animation, and exciting action sequences that earned the first movie its Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. It starts with Miles Morales being awakened from his multi-versal friend Gwen Stacy dropping into his bedroom.

While Miles hastily cleans up the messy space, Gwen challenges him with sneaking out for adventures as Spider-Man – which sends him bouncing through the multiverse. The teaser ends by revealing the official title, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Part One.

Shameik Moore is returning to voice Miles Morales, as are Hailee Steinfeld as Gwen Stacy and Jake Johnson as Peter B. Parker. It is not known who else might return for the sequel, which could include Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man Noir, Kimiko Glenn as Peni Parker, and John Mulaney as Spider-Ham.

Issa Rae joins as Jessica Drew and Oscar Isaac will voice Miguel O’Hara/Spider-Man 2099. Writer-producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller returned to the project, and directors Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson are helming the film.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – Part One will be in theaters on October 7, 2022.
