Cartoonist Terry Austin and comic artist Gerhard are doing exclusive private signings with CGC. Both artists are also offering remarques.

Austin is best known for his influential work on The Uncanny X-Men, other Marvel titles like Doctor Strange and Captain Marvel, as well as DC books such as Superman and Justice League. He started as an inker on Detective Comics and Adventure Comics, then he moved on to The Dark Phoenix Saga and Cloak and Dagger.

“The CGC Signature Series team is beyond excited to be able to work with such an inspiring artist in the comic book world,” CGC Signature Series Director Brittany McManus said. “Terry Austin has left an impression on an entire generation, and we cannot wait to see the submissions that we will be receiving for this signing. Plus, we are stoked to be able to offer fans some of his extraordinary reemarques for purchase!”

Gerhard is known for his illustrations on Cerebus the Aardvark, which he worked on for 20 years. He does commission work on his website, has contributed to the Winsor McCay tribute book, Little Nemo, Dream Another Dream, has created variant covers for The Walking Dead, and recently colored Becoming Frankenstein.

“The Signature Series team and I are beyond excited to be given the opportunity to host such a talented and influential artist,” McManus said. “Gerhard has contributed and created numerous astounding pieces such as Cerebus’ popular crossovers in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. We cannot wait to see all of the submissions that we will be receiving for this event and we are thrilled to be able to offer fans some of his fantastic remarques for purchase!”

For these exclusive signings, both free and paid CGC members can submit books directly to the CGC headquarters in Sarasota, Florida. CGC must receive all submissions for Austin by Saturday, January 29, 2022, and for Gerhard by Friday, February 11.

If the private signings need to be rescheduled, CGC will securely store submissions until they can be rescheduled.

After the books are signed, CGC will grade and encapsulate them with expedited turnaround of six weeks for grading or eight weeks for grading and pressing. Then collectibles will be shipped back to the owners.

The fee for Austin’s signature is $75 and Gerhard’s is $70. Austin’s signature and remarque is $115 and Gerhard’s signature and remarque is $160. This includes the expedited turnaround times and encapsulation with CGC’s yellow Signature Series label and CCS pressing (for an additional $20 fee).

The submitters may request the desired remarque, but the subject matter is at the artist’s discretion.

All of the submission details for Austin’s and Gerhard’s signings are on CGC’s website.
