CGC Trading Cards is adding a new designation to cards graded CGC Perfect 10. Effective immediately, cards that achieve the grade will be automatically given sub-grades. The change is being made in response to feedback from collectors.

Using a 10-point grading scale, CGC Trading Cards evaluates each card’s centering, surface, corners, and edges. The quality and condition of those factors, known as sub-grades, determine the overall grade.

A card is graded CGC Pristine 10 if all four sub-grades are given a 10. In this update, when cards are graded CGC Perfect 10, CGC Trading Cards will print the sub-grades on the card’s certification label.
