The Walking Dead returns in February for part 2 of the final season, and judging by the trailer, there’s a lot of violence and suspicion heading our way.

A lot happens in the two-minute trailer, starting with continued tension between Maggie and Negan, and between Daryl and Leah. Young Judith looks poised to protect other kids, sans adults, and the Commonwealth soldiers arrive in Alexandria. Carol is baking cookies again – which could mean that she’s reviving her pretend-to-be-harmless persona to gain intel on the new threat.

Suspicion is prevalent as the Alexandrians try to acclimate to the Commonwealth and its too good to be true comforts and obvious darker side. Quick shots of violence between humans and walkers show Mercer covered in blood, leading to the introduction of the Commonwealth’s governor Pamela Milton.

The Walking Dead’s final season was split into three parts with a total of 24 episodes. The eight episodes in part two will begin on February 20, 2022.
