Cara O’Neil has been promoted to the position of Senior Director of Marketing at Dark Horse. In this role, she will lead Dark Horse’s marketing team to grow and adapt to marketing and publicity changes.
She joined the publisher in 2017 to work on social media management, and has since grown their social media presence by developing and implementing strategies and campaigns. She has also expanded Dark Horse’s live streaming channels and programming.
O’Neil has also managed digital advertising, promotional efforts, and communications strategies for titles like Berserk, The Witcher, Critical Role, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Umbrella Academy, Stranger Things, Hellboy, and more.

O’Neil graduated from Portland State University’s Masters in Publishing program with specialties in marketing and publicity. She also has many years of experience in book retail and library experience with additional time spent in publicity and communications for publishing houses, non-profits, creative agencies, and in higher education.
