Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto are boarding a spooky ride. Haunted Mansion, the movie adaptation based on the popular Disney theme park attraction, has added Curtis and Leto to its all-star cast.

In the movie, a woman tries to exorcise the beings haunting the New Orleans mansion she just bought. Curtis will play Madame Leota the psychic medium whose head appears in a crystal ball, and Leto will portray the Hatbox Ghost.

The Haunted Mansion opened in 1969 at Disneyland in California as an attraction that patrons could walk through. Later, it evolved into a ride that took people through a mansion populated by supernatural beings.

Curtis and Leto join an impressive cast that includes Rosario Dawson, Tiffany Haddish, Danny DeVito, Owen Wilson, and LaKeith Stanfield. Directed by Justin Simien (Dear White People), the script was written by Katie Dippold (The Heat).

Haunted Mansion is scheduled for release on March 10, 2023.

This is the second Haunted Mansion film adaptation, following 2003’s critically panned version starring Eddie Murphy. Movies based on Disney attractions have also included Mission to Mars, The Country Bears, Tomorrowland, Jungle Cruise, and the biggest hit, the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.
