Longtime Archie Comics artist Tim Kennedy has passed away. Archie Comics confirmed his passing on December 2, 2022 on social media.

Tim and his twin brother Pat Kennedy graduated from the Joe Kubert School of Cartooning and Graphic Design. They started at Archie in 1989 and provided art for Archie’s future-set line of comics including Archie 3000, Jughead’s Time Police, in which Jughead teamed with Archie’s descendant to fight crime, and Jughead’s Diner, about an interdimensional diner.

For several years, the Kennedys worked on Life with Archie with writer Paul Kupperberg, seeing two storylines in which Archie was married to Betty in one and Veronica in the other. They handled the horror themed Jughead: The Hunger, which turned the usually affable Jughead into a frightening werewolf.

Recently, the Kennedy brothers collaborated on the “Crisis on the Riverdale Earths” story in Archie 80th Anniversary Jumbo Comics Digest #1 and the Archie Meets Riverdale crossover that saw Riverdale TV versions meeting their Archie Comics counterparts.

“For decades, the Fabulous K Bros have dazzled fans around the world, bringing some of the funniest and most difficult stories from idea to the page,” Archie President & Editor in Chief Mike Pellerito said. “No matter the challenge of illustrating a difficult scene with a giant Ferris wheel, intricate architecture, spaceships, car chases or any other wild story idea, they handled it seemingly with ease. Over the past decade or so I think their work has become some of the best and most versatile at Archie.”
