The Addams Family star Lisa Loring died on Saturday, January 28, 2023, due to complications from a stroke. She was 64 years old.

Loring is best known for playing Wednesday Addams, the charmingly odd daughter on The Addams Family sitcom that aired from 1964 to 1966. Despite only running for two seasons and 64 episodes, The Addams Family has remained a pop culture touchstone and Loring’s performance has directly influenced later portrayals of the character.

She was born Lisa Ann DeCinces on February 16, 1958, in the Marshall Islands, then was given the stage name Lisa Loring and started modeling when she was just 3 years old. Her first role was in an episode of Dr. Kildare, then after The Addams Family, she was in The Phyllis Diller Show and The Girl from U.N.C.L.E.

Following an 11-year break from acting, she starred in Halloween with the Addams Family TV movie, Fantasy Island, Barnaby Jones, and she appeared in a few episodes of As the World Turns. In the late ‘80s she was in Blood Frenzy, Savage Harbor, and Iced, then took another break from acting before her final two roles in Way Down in Chinatown and Doctor Spine.

Loring regularly attended nostalgia and horror conventions, meeting lines of Wednesday Addams fans.
