Doom’s Day is coming – only this time it’s for a Time Lord not the Man of Steel.

Doctor Who has announced the special multi-platform story “Doom’s Day” as a part of the beloved British sci-fi series’ 60th anniversary. The standalone story will take place over comics, audio adventures, a novel, and video games. It launches later in 2023.

Someone has sent Death to find Doom, the Universe’s greatest assassin, and she only has 24 hours to outrun it. Using a vortex manipulator, she will travel through space and time to find the Doctor or risk sealing her fate forever.

Actress, stand-up comedian, and comedy sketch artist Sooz Kempner will portray Doom.

“‘Doom’s Day’ is a huge new adventure for the whole Doctor Who universe – starring the brilliant and hilarious Sooz Kempner as an intergalactic assassin. Her adventures will span comics, audio, a novel, video games stories, and more, expanding the world of Doctor Who into brand new territories. Beware the Doom’s Day, it’s coming for us all.” Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies said.

“To be part of the Doctor Who universe, a British institution up there with cups of tea and James Bond, is surreal and amazing! I love everything about Doom and can’t believe I get to travel across time and space with her,” Kempner said.

“Doom’s Day” will launch on Doctor Who digital channels, followed by content in Doctor Who Magazine, Titan Comics, Penguin Random House, East Side Games, Big Finish, and BBC Audio. Each will tell a section of Doom’s story with their own adventure during one of the 24 hours Doom has left. The standalone stories will be a part of an overarching narrative that culminates in a finale on Doctor Who digital channels.
