Paramount+ has released the trailer for Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, a prequel to Stephen King’s Pet Sematary novel that was published in 1983.
Set in 1969, the movie will follow a younger Jud Crandall, the character who appears in the novel as the wizened old neighbor that tells Louis Creed about the Pet Sematary and then warns him not to use it.
“Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path,” the film’s synopsis states.
The trailer teases the shocking resurrections that Jud witnesses, including that of Timmy, a local young man who he tells Louis Creed about decades later when the latter experiences death in his own house.
Jackson White (Tell Me Lies) is starring as Jud in Pet Sematary: Bloodlines. The cast includes David Duchovny, Henry Thomas, and Pam Grier, along with Samantha Mathis, Natalie Alyn Lind, Jack Mulhern, Forrest Goodluck, and Isabella Star LaBlanc.
Pet Sematary: Bloodlines will start streaming on Paramount+ on October 6, 2023.
