The original Green Lantern Alan Scott is back starring in his new comic series Alan Scott: The Green Lantern. Artist-writer John K. Snyder III, known for his DC work on Suicide Squad and Doctor Mid-Nite, provided one of the variant covers for the title’s first issue.
When asked how he got involved with the project, Snyder told Scoop, “I was contacted by editor Marquis Draper who was familiar with my previous work on the Green Lantern: Brightest Day Blackest Night prestige format book I did with writer Steve Seagle, a reimagining of the first encounter between Alan Scott and Solomon Grundy. It was great to take on this new cover assignment to revisit these classic Golden Age characters.”
Snyder went on to share, “I’m very proud to be a part of this project and hope everyone enjoys the new series!”
Alan Scott: The Green Lantern explores both the hero’s early days as the Green Lantern and his personal life as he readies to battle the Red Lantern. The book is written by Tim Sheridan with interior art by Cian Tormey and colorist Matt Helms, with lettering by Lucas Gattoni. The first issue is in comic shops now.
The original art for the cover is available for purchase. Interested collectors can send inquiries to Steve Borock at sborock@comiclink.com.
