Diamond Book Distributors has signed a worldwide distribution agreement, excluding the United Kingdom, with Soaring Penguin Press. This agreement will see Soaring Penguin Press products exclusively distributed to North American and international book markets, as well as to the comic book specialty market through Diamond Comic Distributors.
Soaring Penguin Press, a UK-based publisher of graphic novels and comics, was established in 2010. Notable titles have included Loisel’s Peter Pan (2012), translated into English for the first time, as well as the Eisner-nominated To End All Wars: The Graphic Anthology of the First World War (2014), and the Ignatz-nominated The Black Feather Falls (2015). With the signing of this distribution agreement, Soaring Penguin Press is currently putting together a multi-year plan to bring to market titles from alternative voices, translations of foreign works and reprints of out of print stories that need to find a new audience.
“This is a great move for us. To continue, we needed better presence in the US and Canada. After careful consideration, we feel that Diamond Book Distributors will support us brilliantly in our ambitions,” publisher John Anderson said.
Forthcoming titles from Soaring Penguin Press include I Do, I Don’t: How to Build a Better Marriage, a non-fiction relationship guide as a graphic novel, as well as the continuation of Soaring Penguin Press’s acclaimed anthology title, Meanwhile....
“We’re very pleased to welcome Soaring Penguin Press to the Diamond family and look forward to working with John and his publishing team to expand the readership of their quality fiction and non-fiction graphic novels in North American and international marketplaces,” Diamond Book Distributors President Tony Lutkus said.
