Eric Draven is rising from the grave once again. The Crow movie reboot starring It breakout star Bill Skarsgård in the titular role is scheduled for release on June 7, 2024.

Based on James O’Barr’s influential supernatural comic of the same name, The Crow will follow Eric Draven on his quest for vengeance. After Eric and his girlfriend Shelly are murdered, he is resurrected and will walk the line between living and dead to exact revenge on their killers.

Directed by Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman), the script was written by Zach Baylin and Will Schneider. It also stars singer FKA Twigs, Danny Huston, Laura Birn, Sami Bouajila, and Jordan Bolger.

“We appreciate what The Crow character and original movie mean to legions of fans and believe this new film will offer audiences an authentic and visceral reinterpretation of its emotional power and mythology,” Lionsgate’s Executive VP Acquisitions and Co-Productions Charlotte Koh said. “To work with a creative team led by Rupert’s unparalleled visual style and storytelling and with a producing team who have made some of the most popular and impactful films of the last several decades is a true privilege.”

Edward R. Pressman, who produced the original The Crow movie and its sequels (as well as American Psycho) is back to produce the reboot. The producers also include Molly Hassell (Terminal), Victor Hadida (Resident Evil franchises), and John Jencks (Honest Thief).

The Crow movie franchise began 30 years ago in 1994, starring the late Brandon Lee as the vigilante. Three sequels followed, starting with The Crow: City of Angels in ’96, starring Vincent Pérez as the Crow. The Crow: Salvation followed in 2000 with Eric Mabius and Kirsten Dunst, then The Crow: Wicked Prayer was released in 2005, starring Edward Furlong, Tara Reid, and David Boreanaz.
