Actor Chris Gauthier, who starred in Eureka, died suddenly on Friday, February 23, 2024, after a short illness. He was 48 years old.

Gauthier played Vincent/Virtual Vincent in the sci-fi comedy Eureka, during all five seasons from 2006 to 2012. He spent much of his career doing guest spots on superhero, fantasy, and supernatural TV shows, as well as Hallmark movies.

The Canadian actor was born on January 27, 1976, in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. His career began in 2000 on an episode of Cold Squad, followed by early film work in 40 Days and 40 Nights, Insomnia, and Freddy vs. Jason. Gauthier played Toyman in multiple episodes of Smallville, did guest spots on Dead Like Me, Stargate: Atlantis, and Reaper, appeared in two episodes of Supernatural, and was in the Watchmen movie.

He starred in the whodunit/slasher miniseries Harper’s Island, was in Sanctuary, Continuum, Psych, and iZombie. He played William Smee in Once Upon a Time, did a few episodes of A Series of Unfortunate Events, played Henry VIII in Legends of Tomorrow, and was in episodes of Joe Pickett.

Gauthier’s work in Hallmark TV movies include Hitched for the Holidays, a few Signed, Sealed, Delivered movies, Christmas Cookies, Aurora Teagarden Mysteries: Heist and Seek, The Christmas House, and his final role was in Ms. Christmas Comes to Town.
