Doctor Who has released the second full length trailer for the first season starring Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor and Millie Gibson as Ruby Sunday. It promises adventure and freedom as the pair traverse the universe.

So far, the trailers for Gatwa’s turn as the Doctor have been upbeat and optimistic. The new trailer previews more of the historical episodes and their extravagant period costumes, as well as a musical number. It has talking babies, monstrous creatures, a terrible storm, musical notes used as binding material, and more fantastical elements. But it isn’t all fun and games, as the Doctor warns Ruby that they will try to stop the end of existence. The Doctor also threatens an unseen foe that he’ll turn a battlefield into dust.

Russell T. Davies is back as the showrunner, as well as executive producer and writer, on the new season of Doctor Who. Fellow series alums coming back to the long-running sci-fi show include Jemma Redgrave as UNIT leader Kate Stewart and Bonnie Langford as Sixth/Seventh Doctor companion Mel Bush.

The new season also features Lenny Rush, Aneurin Barnard, Indira Varma, Jonathan Groff, Jinx Monsoon, Anita Dobson, Yasmin Finney, Michelle Greenidge, Genesis Lynea, and Angela Wynter.

Doctor Who debuts in the US on May 10, 2024, on Disney+.
