What could possibly go wrong when the Merc with a Mouth tries to enlist the grumpiest X-Man to help him save the world? The answer is lots of fighting and f-bombs in the second full-length trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine.

It opens with Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) getting the “you’re not welcome here” spiel from a disgruntled bartender, then Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) shows up and asks/demands for his help. The two violent antiheroes proceed to duke it out while Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” plays in the background.

In the trailer, Deadpool explains that everyone he cares about is in danger and confronts Wolverine over what happened in his world. It provides the first look at villain Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin), shows a damaged Giant-Man helmet, Mad Max-style car chases, and a portal to another world. Viewers also get a taste of Deadpool’s latest fourth wall breaks when he makes jokes about third act flashbacks and what topics are off limits per Kevin Feige.

Shawn Levy (Free Guy) is directing the movie. Deadpool franchise stars Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Lewis Tan, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapicic, and Rob Delaney are back for the sequel. Patrick Stewart will appear in the film as Charles Xavier, Jennifer Garner is reprising her early 2000s role of Elektra, and Aaron Stanford who played Pyro in the first X-Men trilogy returns as the hothead.

Deadpool & Wolverine will premiere in theaters on July 26, 2024. The new trailer features adult language and violence; it can be viewed on YouTube.
