Wade and Logan are besties – sort of – in the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. Marvel Entertainment released the trailer on National Best Friends Day to preview the hilarious (and grumpy) chemistry between Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman).

It starts with the hero entrance of the pair walking toward the camera in front of a wrecked storefront comically named Liefeld’s Just Feet (taking a shot at Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld’s artistic weak spot). Then as Deadpool expresses his enthusiasm for their team-up, Wolverine cuts him off to ask that the heavily scarred Wade put his mask back on.

There’s a blink and you’ll miss it shot of Lady Deadpool, aka Wanda Wilson from another Earth, a wasteland with a busted 20th Century Studios sign, and a joke about Paul Rudd. The trailer also shows a moment that Deadpool and Wolverine are tied together face to face and an action shot of them jumping through a portal, presumably into another Earth.

Deadpool franchise stars Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Lewis Tan, Shioli Kutsuna, Stefan Kapicic, and Rob Delaney are back for the sequel. Shawn Levy (Free Guy) is directing the movie and Emma Corrin will portray the villain Cassandra Nova. A few other Marvel film stars will appear in the movie, including Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Jennifer Garner as Elektra, and X-Men trilogy star Aaron Stanford as Pyro.

Deadpool & Wolverine debuts in theaters on July 26, 2024.
