Diamond Book Distributors has signed a worldwide distribution agreement with Pegamoose Press to exclusively distribute their products to North American and international book markets. Distribution to the comic book specialty market is handled exclusively by Diamond Comic Distributors.

Pegamoose Press emerged during the pandemic as a venue for comic book creative couple Brenda Hickey (My Little Pony) and Troy Little (Cult of the Lamb) to test the waters of crowdfunding their creator owned books, Halls of the Turnip King, Angora Napkin: The Golden McGuffin, and Butterfly House. With three successful Kickstarters behind them, and a growing number of industry award nominations, they’ve decided to expand beyond their own titles and support fresh new voices, starting with the whimsical black and white fantasy epic, Orchard of the Tame – the stunning debut graphic novel from Nick Cross and Marlo Meekins.

“Nick and Marlo are just brilliant creatives, so when we heard they had created a graphic novel we just had to see it,” Little said. “Needless to say, we were totally blown away! For the first time we seriously considered growing our imprint because this book just had to be in print.”

Nick Cross got his start in the Canadian animation scene working storyboards by day and animating brilliant and bizarre personal projects by night. A genius of the medium, his original shorts caught the attention of big companies such as Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and Netflix. In 2015 he was awarded two Emmys for his work on Over the Garden Wall. His most recent work can be seen in Prime Video’s Merry Little Batman. Marlo Meekins is a creative force of nature. Known for her offbeat humor and grotesque caricatures, The New York Times praised her “crisp ideas and unexpected visual flourishes.”

“Troy and I are excited to take our experience with publishing and push it forward with Orchard of the Tame,” Hickey said. “We are looking forward to partnering with Diamond Distribution for this next step and seeing our line of books emerge onto the North American comic and book markets.”

“We love the whimsical and diverse catalog of Pegamoose – from young adult and middle grade fantasy to award-winning magical mysteries and epic fantasy, Troy and Brenda have created something very special. Diamond Books can’t wait to introduce their first book, this November!” Diamond Book Distributors President Tony Lutkus said.
