Land of the Lost star Spencer Milligan died at his home on April 18, 2024. His family has announced his passing. Milligan was 86 years old.

Milligan starred in the first two seasons of the Saturday morning kids show as park ranger and widowed father Rick Marshall. The dad and his children, Will and Holly, were hit by an earthquake during a rafting trip and were sent into an alternate universe filled with dinosaurs.

He was born in Oak Park, Illinois on September 10, 1937. Milligan studied theater at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, then served in the US Army until 1966. He studied acting in New York and Los Angeles, making his film debut in 1973’s Sleeper.

Milligan appeared in episodes of Gunsmoke, Barbary Coast, Baretta, McCloud, The Bionic Woman, Logan’s Run, Sword of Justice, The Dukes of Hazzard, Police Squad!, Quincy M.E., and General Hospital.

His work in movies included The Man from Clover Grove, The Photographer, The Keegans, Terror Among Us, and The Last Page of Summer.

During the last 20 years of his life, Milligan worked at Third Avenue PlayWorks in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, teaching classes and directing plays.
