Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), which specializes in grading sports and hobby cards, as well as autograph and memorabilia authentication, is expanding their services. Starting in 2025, PSA will authenticate and grade comic books and magazines, along with comic and magazine pressing.

They will accept standard size comics from the Victorian Age up to the Modern Age and standard size magazines from People to Sports Illustrated. Their pressing services will work to remove bends, creases, dents, and other defects.

PSA has over three decades of experience authenticating and grading collectibles. Their engineering and anti-counterfeiting teams are developing holders and accepting suggestions from the collecting community. The casing is made of specially formulated plastic designed to reveal tampering.

Their labels will provide important details such as title, issue number, publication date, and grade, surrounded by PSA’s red border. The label has a fugitive ink graphic pattern to protect from label washing, a special PSA holo logo, and a QR code that leads to verification.

PSA will use their 10-point grading scale with new decimal increments. Designed specifically for comics and magazines, the grading system will consider covers and interior pages, inserts, staples, and more.
