Zenescope Entertainment is turning their Grimm Tales of Terror horror anthology comic series into a TV show. The publisher is seeking backers for the project on Kickstarter.

Ralph Tedesco, the co-creator and one of the writers of the Grimm Tales of Terror comic series, described it as an homage to TV shows like The Twilight Zone and Tales from the Crypt with twists on established urban legends.

On the Kickstarter campaign, Tedesco recounts the publisher’s previous attempts to get a TV series off the ground with a production company. When the project was shelved, Zenescope decided to make the series themselves, starting with an adaptation of their comic story, “A Killer Hook.”

Pledge levels start at $19 to get your name in the credits; $39 includes a digital copy of season one, script book, and name in the credits; and $59 contains the Blu-ray of season one, copy of the script, name in the credits, and digital copies. In addition to the TV series, backers can also get comics, a challenge coin, and a t-shirt, as well as a prop from the show, a set visit, and more. Pledge levels go up to $4,500 for a cameo in the series, private screening and cast party, producer’s credit, and more.

The campaign goal is $75,000, and raised nearly half that amount in less than 24 hours. It runs through August 25, 2024.
