The Ghost with the Most is back to haunt the living and torment the Deetz family in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, arriving in theaters on September 6, 2024. Before heading to the theaters, fans can get reacquainted with the mischievous ghost by watching the Beetlejuice animated series. The entire four-season series is streaming for free on Tubi.

The Beetlejuice animated show was based on characters and concepts from the movie, but reimagined the relationship between Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice as a mutual friendship. The pair would get into trouble in both the real world with Lydia’s parents and friends, or in the Neitherworld which was populated by all sorts of monstrous creatures. Beetlejuice relied on grossout humor that often amused (and occasionally disgusted) Lydia, and she embraced being the oddball with a ghost as her best bud.

Beetlejuice director Tim Burton developed the animated series and Patsy Cameron and Tedd Anasti served as the writers. X-Men: The Animated Series voice actors Stephen Ouimette (the voice of Archangel) voiced Beetlejuice and Alyson Court (who voiced Jubilee) provided the voice of Lydia.

The show originally ran from 1989 to 1991 with the first three seasons on ABC and the last on Fox. The successful cartoon series aimed at children inspired comic book adaptations, toys, video games, and apparel.
