On September 20-22, 2024, Baltimore Comic-Con will host their 25th anniversary convention at the Baltimore Convention Center. They are still announcing guests, including Sean Chen, Michael Golden, Jamie Jameson, Jon Malin, Anthony Marques, and Arthur Suydam.
Chen is an artist with three decades of experience that began with Rai and the Future Force at Valiant, then he moved on to Harbinger, Bloodshot, and X-O Manowar. From there he went to Marvel where he had a long run drawing Iron Man, then followed that with Wolverine, X-Men, Spider-Man, Nova, and The Avengers.
Golden is an artist and writer known for co-creating Rogue, Spartan X, and Bucky O’Hare. He is well regarded for his work on The ‘Nam, Micronauts, G.I. Joe Yearbook, and Dr. Strange. His work is seen on covers for The Walking Dead, Civil War, Rom, Spawn, Nightwing, Iron Man, Heroes for Hire, Exiles, Spider-Man, Vampirella, Captain America, The Punisher, and more. Recent books celebrating his art include Excess: The Art of Michael Golden, Heroes and Villains, and Michael Golden: Dangerous Curves. He has worked as an editor at DC and senior art director at Marvel, has worked on movie productions, and his art has been showcased in galleries around the world.
Jameson has worked on American Gods, including photography and layouts, as well as The Metal Men, Deja Thoris, and Dreadstar. She has a few creator-owned projects in the works, as well as music projects. At her convention appearances, she also sells prints of her photography and wood sculptures.
Malin is a publisher on Graveyard Shift and writer/artist on Godlike: The Romulus Saga. His work also includes Youngblood, Thunderbolts, and Cable.
Marques is a graduate of the Joe Kubert School and began his career as an editor at DC and Dynamite before becoming a freelance artist. He has drawn for Batman, Superman, Green Hornet, and Ghostbusters. He taught at the Joe Kubert School, eventually becoming president and owner.
Suydam is known as the Zombie King for his work on the Marvel Zombies line. He is known as a cover artist on Deadpool, DCeased, Black Panther, and The Walking Dead. He brings fine art skills to books like Cholly and Flytrap and Mudwogs. Additionally, his work has been featured in Batman, Wolverine, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Ghost Rider, Army of Darkness, and Vampirella.
“We have some returning greats as well as first timers here,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “It’s always great to welcome new talent into the room, as well as to have people with vast bodies of work behind them. I think attendees are going to be excited to meet these guests, and we’re happy to have them join us this year.”
