The Comics Courier is a new newspaper format journal that presents in-depth comics criticism. The publication is currently seeking backers on Kickstarter.
Edited by Tiffany Babb (Popverse), The Comics Courier, will be a biannual publication featuring essays and reviews. Comic critics contributing to the first issue are Douglas Wolk, Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou, Tiffany Babb, Dave Baker, Carrie McClain, Sean Dillon, Kat Calamia, Lisa and Brad Gullickson, Liam McGuire, Jim McDermott, and Lillie Hochwender.
“Our core goal is to create a space for serious (and silly) writing about comics and to share our love for the medium, the creators, and the comics themselves. Thank you for your support,” per the Kickstarter campaign.
Pledge levels start at $9 for a physical copy of the journal and $21 for a physical copy and limited edition print. Pledges of $35 get an early bird copy, plus two holographic stickers, and three limited edition prints and $50 includes those items and a custom reporter’s notebook. There are also retailer and sponsor tiers.
At press time, the Kickstarter campaign had reached nearly double its goal. The campaign is seeking backers until Friday, November 1, 2024.
