One of the reasons that Kraven is such a skilled hunter is that he can sneak up on his prey before they even notice. Kraven the Hunter star Aaron Taylor-Johnson recently put his abilities to the test by secretly attaching keychain-sized beartraps on unsuspecting attendees at New York Comic Con. Those little collectibles were used to announce the Ultimate Movie Hunt sweepstakes.
Fans can enter for a chance to win a screening of Kraven the Hunter in their hometown before the movie opens in theaters. Entrants can also win a PlayStation 5.
Kraven the Hunter is a Spider-Man universe spinoff from Sony that will tell the titular character’s origin story. “Kraven’s complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff (Russell Crowe), starts him down a path of vengeance, motivating him to become not only the greatest hunter in the world, but also one of its most feared,” per the official synopsis.
This will be the first of Sony’s Marvel movies to score an R-rating, based on the violence that is teased in the trailer. Kraven the Hunter is directed by J.C. Chandor (A Most Violent Year), and also stars Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Christopher Abbott, Alessandro Nivola, Levi Miller, and Billy Barratt.
It will arrive in theaters on December 13, 2024.
