Wednesday is adding an Oscar winner to their cast. Singer-songwriter-actress Lady Gaga has joined the second season of the popular Netflix show.

Details on her role, including the character name and size of the part, have not been announced.

Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega as the deadpan daughter from The Addams Family. The first season arrived in 2022, when Wednesday transferred to Nevermore Academy where she found a monster living among the students and uncovered secrets from her parents’ past. The show was a huge success and was renewed only months after it debuted on Netflix.

It’s no surprise that the supernatural-comedy show would attract the “Bad Romance” singer, whose credits include American Horror Story and Joker: Folie à Deux. Lady Gaga has also appeared in A Star is Born and House of Gucci. She is currently working on her seventh solo album, which is scheduled for release in February 2025.

Series creators and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar will continue as showrunners and writers, and will be executive producing season two. Tim Burton is also back as an EP and will direct episodes.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez are back as Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley Addams. Returning cast also includes Emma Myers, Hunter Doohan, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, Georgie Farmer, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo, and Fred Armisen.

Season two will have a slate of guest stars, such as Christopher Lloyd, who played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family movie. Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Temple, Thandie Newton, Haley Joel Osment, and Joonas Suotamo will also appear on the show.

Wednesday season two is currently in the works and is expected to arrive on Netflix sometime in 2025.
