Some of the strange, satirical stories from Black Mirror will be retold in comic book form. Twisted Comics, the UK-based publisher headed by Neil Gibson, has struck a deal with Banijay Rights, the show’s global distributor, to bring the anthology series to comics.

The line is described as “immersive comic books comprising iconic Black Mirror storylines.” Twisted Comics will start previewing the comics on their website in early 2025 and issues will start arriving in stores in mid-2025.

Created by Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones, Black Mirror is a satirical show about alternate realities or near-future scenarios. Inspired by The Twilight Zone, the show explores situations in which technology and media have strange, even dangerous impacts on society. Memorable episodes include one about a pair of older women enjoying their youth again through simulated reality, a dating algorithm that predicts exactly how long a couple will be together, social media rankings that impact quality of life, and an interactive choose your own adventure special about a video game programmer.

The revolving cast has included well known stars like Anthony Mackie, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jodie Whittaker, Daniel Kaluuya, Jon Hamm, and Salma Hayek. The show began on the UK’s Channel 4 and will soon air its seventh season on Netflix. Stars set to appear on the new season include Awkwafina, Rashida Jones, Paul Giamatti, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Peter Capaldi.

Black Mirror needs no introduction as one of television’s uniquely engrossing brands. The show’s unpredictable and unexpected episodes will be a perfect fit for this visionary comic book series, which we’re in no doubt will appeal to a whole new dimension of fans,” said David Christopher, Director of Licensing & Merchandising for Banijay Rights. “I’d encourage fans to get registering now to keep updated on the comic’s developments and release.”

“It has long been a dream of mine to extend Black Mirror – one of my ‘hero brands’ – into comic book form,” Twisted Comics founder and CEO Neil Gibson said. “Now that dream is a reality, and I believe fans of the show will love what we are planning. Watch this space.”
