The Doctor and his new friend Joy saved the holidays and enjoyed adventures in the Time Hotel during the Doctor Who Christmas episode. The annual special concluded with a first look at Ncuti Gatwa’s second season as the Doctor.
In season two, “The Doctor meets Belinda Chandra and begins an epic quest to get her back to Earth. But a mysterious force is stopping their return and the time traveling TARDIS team must face great dangers, ferocious enemies and wilder terrors than ever before,” per BBC’s synopsis.
The short, 20-second teaser trailer introduces Varada Sethu as Belinda Chandra and catches up with Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) who may have joined UNIT. We see the Doctor encountering strange forces, space battles on another planet, a cartoon coming out of a movie screen, and more.
The teaser shows that Kate Lethbridge-Stewart (Jemma Redgrave) and Ruby’s odd neighbor Mrs. Flood (Anita Dobson) are also back. Russell T. Davies is pulling double duty as showrunner and executive producer on Gatwa’s second season of Doctor Who. It will air sometime in 2025.
