After a lengthy wait for season two, it’s finally time to return to the post-apocalyptic wasteland of The Last of Us. Max released a short teaser trailer for the upcoming second season of the TV show based on the video game series.

“Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind,” the official logline states.

The teaser shows short flashes of what’s to come, catching up with Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie Williams (Bella Ramsey). It gives a first look at Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), a character who is new to the show that plays an important role in the video game series. “It doesn’t matter if you have a code like me. There are just some things everyone agrees are just wrong,” she says during the brief trailer.

Characters from the video game series joining season two also include Isaac Dixon (Jeffrey Wright), Jesse (Young Mazino), and Dina (Isabela Merced).

The Last of Us season two will debut on Max in April 2025.
