The SI MoCCA Arts Festival, hosted by the Society of Illustrators, is in its 23rd year of celebrating comic, cartoon, illustration, and animation artists from all over the world. Work by over 400 creators will be featured, along with live lectures, panels, and artist signings.
The festival is scheduled for March 15-16, 2025, from 11 AM to 6 PM at the Metropolitan Pavilion, located at 125 W 18th Street, New York City. Programming will take place nearby at MoCCA’s main festival partner, SVA’s Flatiron Gallery, located at 133 West 21st Street.
The Society is partnering with CalmerCon NYC to debut a Calmer Space. The area at the Fest will be designed to support the neurodiverse community, individuals with PTSD, and people with special needs.
“Our space offers an environment tailored to reduce sensory overload while providing tools to encourage relaxation and self-regulation. Items offered in the space are carefully chosen to help attendees recharge, self-regulate, and make the most of their time at the Fest. We invite everyone to use this welcoming space to enhance their experience,” per the Society of Illustrators’ press release.
The main visual art promoting the 2025 Fest is provided by artist Linnea Sterte. Her art will appear in a large scale display at the Fest, on the cover of the Souvenir Journal, and in promotional materials, including merchandise at the SI Booth.
Several other artists also created visuals for the Fest. Olivia Fields’ characters will be on the event badges and displayed throughout the Fest. John Vasquez Mejias’ two-color woodcut prints will be on promotional material.
The featured artists will attend the Fest; schedules and table locations will be announced closer to the event date. Tickets are available now.
