Fine artist Jim Silke passed away at the age of 93. He had a long career drawing comics, working as a graphic designer.

He was the author of the Rascals in Paradise graphic novels, and he wrote and drew Bettie Page: Queen of the Nile and Queen of Hearts comics. He also produced four art books, including Nude: The Job of Figure Drawing and other pinup style books.

Silke designed covers for record albums at Capitol Records. He was nominated for multiple Grammy awards with one win for Best Recording Package for Judy Garland’s Judy at Carnegie Hall live album.

Throughout his career, Silke was also an art director, magazine editor, photographer, publisher, historian, and screenwriter.
