The Lanterns TV series has found another member of the Green Lantern Corps. Nathan Fillion will star in the series as Green Lantern Guy Gardner. Fillion will make his first appearance as Guy Gardner in the upcoming Superman movie that is set for release in July 2025.

Lanterns follows two of the Corps’ heroes: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. In the show, Hal is considered one of the best members of the Green Lanterns and John is a recent recruit. The two Lanterns will be “drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland,” per the official synopsis.

The show was developed by Chris Mundy (Ozark), Damon Lindeloff (Watchmen), and comics writer Tom King. They will co-write and co-executive produce the series with Mundy serving as the showrunner.

Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights) will star as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre (Rebel Ridge) will play John Stewart. The series will also star Kelly Macdonald, Poorna Jagannathan, Ulrich Thomsen, and Jason Ritter.

This will be Fillion’s fourth starring TV role, following the early 2000s cult hit Firefly, and the procedurals Castle and The Rookie.
