Baltimore Comic-Con is building an impressive guest list of comic creators for the event on October 17-19. 2025. The latest additions are David Finch, Mike Grell, Laura Martin, Kevin Nowlan, Mark Waid, and John Workman.
Finch has been working in comics for nearly 30 years. He received recognition for his early work at Top Cow Productions on titles such as Cyberforce, Ascension, and Aphrodite IX. Then he worked at Marvel on titles like Ultimate X-Men, Avengers, New Avengers, and Moon Knight. Moving over to DC in 2010, he was a writer and artist on Batman: The Dark Knight. He also worked on DC’s Forever Evil, and provided art on Wonder Woman. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he created a YouTube channel to connect with fans; it now has over 400,000 subscribers.
Grell is a writer and artist known for his cinematic storytelling and creating the Warlord, Starslayer, Jon Sable, Freelance, Shaman’s Tears, Bar Sinister, and Maggie the Cat. He had successful runs working on Superboy and the Legion of Superheroes, Green Lantern, Batman, Iron Man, the Tarzan Sunday comic strip, and the Eisner-nominated Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters, as well as the ongoing Green Arrow series.
Martin is a Harvey and Eisner award winning colorist. Her work can be seen at DC, Marvel, Image, Dark Horse, Virgin, and CrossGen. Recently, she has worked on Eniac at Bad Idea, and A-Force, Nubia: Queen of the Amazons, and Hulk at Marvel.
Nowlan has been a penciler, inker, colorist, and letterer for over 40 years. His credits include Batman: Sword of Azreal, Batman Black and White, Tomorrow Stories, Doctor Strange, Infernal Man-Thing, and Superman: The Last Days of Lex Luthor. He also helped design characters for Batman: The Animated Series, including Joker, Killer Croc, the Mad Hatter, and the Man-Bat.
A multi-time Harvey and Eisner Award winner, Waid has had acclaimed runs on DC’s The Flash, Kingdom Come, JLA, Legion of Super-Heroes, and Superman: Birthright; on Marvel’s Captain America, Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man, and Daredevil; BOOM! Studios’ Incorruptible and Irredeemable; and Archie’s Archie. He is also known for his creator-owned works, Empire and Potter’s Field, and for serving as publisher of Humanoids.
Workman has been an editor, writer, art director, penciler, inker, colorist, letterer, production director, and book designer for various companies. He co-created Wild Things and both wrote and drew the comics series Sindy, Fallen Angels, and Roma. In 1991, he reflected on model Bettie Page in Betty Being Bad (Eros), and later produced the hardbounds Heavy Metal: 25 Years of Classic Covers and Innocent Images: The Sexy Fantasy Females of Viper and Kiss, as well as The Adventures of Roma.
“These guests are titans,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “Every one of them has left an indelible mark on the industry, creating art, storylines, and characters that persist today, and they continue to do so. We are privileged to have them with us this year and we could not be happier.”
