On Wedneday, June 9, Paradise Comics listed the first five books to be
released from the "Dave Sim File Copy" Pedigree collection of Cerebus issues
that have been graded and encapsulated by Comics Guaranty, LLC (CGC) as part of
their prestigious Signature Series label. All of the books from the pedigree
collection (which includes copies of every issue between #1 and #135) were
signed in front of CGC's modern grading specialist Paul Litch and
representatives from Paradise Comics back in March 2004.
The five books that are on auction between June 9 and June 19 include the
following:
Cerebus #5, CGC 9.8
Cerebus #4, CGC 9.9
Cerebus #3, CGC 9.6
Cerebus #2, CGC 9.8
and finally... Cerebus #1, CGC 9.4
All proceeds from the sale of the Cerebus #1 will go to ACTOR - A
Commitment To Our Roots, http://www.actorcomicfund.org
- an organization formed to benefit veteran comic-book creators in need of
financial assistance.
These five books, along with other books from the Dave Sim File Copy
Pedigree Collection will be on display between June 18-20 at the upcoming
TORONTO COMICON 2004 (http://www.torontocomicon.com),
which is being held in the Queen Elizabeth Building at Exhibition Place in
Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
