Following a 23-year hiatus, former Director of Marketing Sven Larsen is returning to Marvel Entertainment in his new role as Director of Licensed Publishing. In his new position, Larsen will assist with Marvel’s intercompany partnership with Disney Publishing Worldwide, maintain and pursue licensing of Marvel work, as well as pursue new licenses for Marvel to publish.
“Seems like the news is getting out there, so I’m excited to confirm that as of this Friday I’ll be (re)joining Marvel Entertainment as their new Director, Licensed Publishing,” Larsen confirmed on Facebook. “Thanks to my new bosses, John Nee and Dan Buckley for the incredible opportunity. Can’t wait to work with old friends like Mark Paniccia, Bill Rosemann, Michael Pasciullo, and all the talented folks who make Marvel so special.”
During his hiatus from Marvel, Larsen worked at Time Warner, Penguin Books, Teshkeel Media Group, ZemoGA, and Papercutz. Most recently, Larsen served as a consultant for AfterShock Comics and publisher of CSI creator Anthony Zuiker’s comic book company, Zuiker Press.
As Director of Licensed Publishing, Larsen will report directly to Marvel’s Publisher John Nee and President Dan Buckley.
