Title: “Eye of the Tigorr”
Synopsis: Tigorr, the new head of the Omega Men, leads a reckless-but-inspirational assault on the Citadel homeworld.

Review: Five issues in and it’s becoming clear this series is unlikely to clear the gravity of its own potential. Free of the Comics Code, writer Roger Slifer is trying to tell a graphic war story set against the backdrop of a classic space opera. Sadly, his character development and world-building is lacking; so much so, that it is hard for the reader to connect emotionally with the story. Ironically, collaborator Keith Giffen was concurrently producing a superior brand of superheroic sci-fi with Paul Levitz on Legion of Super-Heroes. The Omega Men isn’t bad, but further suffers from the comparison.
Grade: B
Cool factor: The Omega Men should have been cool...
