Marshall Rogers visually defined Batman for a generation of fans. Teamed with writer Steve Englehart and inker Terry Austin, Rogers delivered the lead stories in a highly praised run on Detective Comics in the 1970s which introduced mob boss Rupert Thorne, Bruce Wayne’s love interest Silver St. Cloud, and the Joker Fish. He simultaneously drew a memorable run of Mister Miracle. Rogers also worked with Englehart on Coyote in serialized form in the pages of Eclipse Magazine, Madame Xanadu, Scorpio Rose, Silver Surfer and later, again with Austin inking, on the mini-series Batman: Dark Detective. Rogers also illustrated a run on Doctor Strange and teamed with writer Don McGregor on the original Detectives, Inc. graphic novel. His work also appeared in G.I. Joe, Howard The Duck, Green Lantern: Evil's Might, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, and his own creation, Cap'n Quick and a Foozle.
