William Hughes of William Hughes’ Vintage Collectibles has recently taken possession of a comic book collection that he values at over $5,000,000. Hughes told Scoop that he is representing the owner of this collection as a curator to purchase issues needed to fill in the collection, upgrade issues, and sell those that have been upgraded.

The collection spans all comic book genres, featuring superhero, sci-fi, horror, crime, romance, western, war, humor, funny animal, classics, movie, and sports in a variety of grades. Major publishers and titles are well represented, with complete and near-complete runs from Timely, DC, Marvel, Atlas, ACG, EC, Fox, Nedor, Better, Standard, Archie, Superior, Avon, Toby, Ziff-Davis, Capitol Stories/Charlton, Aragon, Ace, Gold Key, and Dell. Many of the issues are the highest certified copies and it contains many signed copies, double-covers, and “error” comics.
