A high grade copy of a Weird Science key and Magneto’s second appearance are among the top lots in Heritage’s Sunday & Monday Comics, Animation, & Art Weekly Online Auction.

Weird Science #13 (#2) CGC 9.0 is one of the highest graded copies of this elusive issue. It is known for its cover featuring flying saucers over Washington – an image that was created two years before a supposed UFO sighting over the nation’s capital. The cover is by Al Feldstein with interior art by Wally Wood, Jack Kamen, Harvey Kurtzman, and Joe Orlando.

X-Men #4 CGC 4.5 marks the second appearance of Magneto, the powerful mutant created by writer Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby. The issue also includes the first appearances of Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Toad, Mastermind, and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Kirby provided the cover and collaborated with Paul Reinman on the art.

There are 833 lots of comics, original art, and other memorabilia in this auction. Comics will close on July 5, followed by other items on July 6. Bidding opens at 6 PM CT on ha.com.
