ComicConnect’s Event Auction #47 contained several sessions of comic books, along with original art, and video games that achieved multiple five- and six-figure prices. The auction closed on August 29 through September 3, 2021.

“The blockbuster record sales in the collectibles market are attracting scores of new investment bidders to our auctions which is triggering a virtuous cycle of even more records and bidders,” ComicConnect COO Vincent Zurzolo said. “A gorgeous copy of Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 8.0 featuring the first appearance of Spider-Man sold for an astonishing $560,000, a copy of X-Men #1 CGC 9.2 smashed through to $250,000, and a restored copy of Batman #1 CGC 7.5 shocked the world with a $186,301 hammer price.”

Golden Age highlights were More Fun Comics #55 CGC 9.4 $136,000, Planet Comics #1 CGC 9.4 $90,500, All Star Comics #8 CGC 5.5 $75,000 and CGC 4.0 $42,000, Detective Comics #29 CGC 7.5 R $43,188 and #35 CGC 4.5 $46,000, Superman #1 CGC 6.5 R $46,000, Flash Comics #1 CGC 0.5 R $34,500, and All Negro Comics #1 CGC 8.0 $21,000.

Top Silver Age sales included Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 8.0 $140,000 and #4 CGC 9.6 $26,000, Amazing Fantasy #15 CGC 5.0 $61,000, Batman #181 CGC 9.6 $41,001, Amazing Spider-Man #2 CGC 9.0 $40,100, #3 CGC 9.2 $29,000, and #14 CGC 9.2 $26,000, X-Men #1 CGC 6.0 $32,623, Journey into Mystery #83 CGC 6.5 $30,000, and Iron Man and Sub-Mariner #1 CGC 9.8 $20,355.

Bronze and Modern Age highlights were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 CGC 9.6 $78,000 and CGC 9.2 $32,001, Star Wars #1 CGC 9.4 (35¢ variant) $32,005, Venom: Lethal Protector #1 CGC 9.6 (black/error) $5,200, and Astonishing Tales #25 CGC 9.8 $6,700.

Top video game sales were Super Mario Bros. 2 (NES) WATA 9.4 $90,000, Playstation Console Dual Shock (PS1) VGA 85 $18,500, Starfox (SNES) WATA 9.4 $15,000, Sqoon (NES) WATA 4.5 $13,000, and Bioshock (XB360) WATA 9.8 $10,678.
